How is configurable leverage calculated?
How is configurable leverage calculated?
Updated yesterday

Configurable Leverage is a parameter that user sets per Instrument.

Configurable Leverage affects:

  1. The size of orders and positions that user can open in given Instrument.

  2. Initial Leverage Ratio that GRVT Risk system uses to calculate Initial Margin Requirements, Available Margin and other related parameters.

When account has no open position for the instrument the valid values for Configurable Leverage are 1 to 50.

When an account has open position of position_size and user wants to change the existing Configurable Leverage the valid values are between:

  1. Minimum Leverage = ( Mark Price * position_size ) / Available Margin Balance

  2. Maximum Leverage = 1 / Initial Margin Rate of position_size

Maximum Position Size that user can open in instrument A is defined as minimum of:

  1. Account Available Balance * Configurable Leverage and

  2. Maximum Position size that can be opened with Initial Margin Rate >= 1 / Configurable Leverage based on the Initial Margin Table.
