What is Grvt Liquidity Provider (GLP)?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Grvt Liquidity Provider (GLP) is a community-owned, delta-neutral market-making strategy designed to deliver stable and consistent returns for liquidity providers.

This strategy is managed in partnership with a veteran global trading team boasting over 40 years of combined market-making and risk-management experience. Over a six-month live trading period, the strategy has been battle-tested across varying market conditions, producing a Sharpe ratio of 7.6, underscoring its strong risk-adjusted performance. There’s no performance or profit-sharing fees accruing to strategy managers. All yield is distributed directly to GLP participants.

GLP opens access to a market-making strategy traditionally reserved for institutional traders, bringing professional-grade liquidity management to everyday users. Built with smart-contract-based access control, GLP automates key operational processes from performance settlements to redemption flows, ensuring transparency, precision, and trustless execution at every stage. By merging institutional strategy design with decentralized infrastructure, GLP bridges the gap between retail accessibility and professional trading sophistication.

Even with professional strategy management, market risks persist. Users are advised to carefully review the strategy’s philosophy, risk management methodology, and performance record and understand all related risks before making any deposits.

Q: What happens if I try to invest more in GLP or withdraw/transfer funds but I don’t meet the required Total Equity?

A: For existing GLP investors, your current experience does not change, your current holdings remain unaffected.

When you try to perform certain actions, such as:

  • Withdrawing funds

  • Transferring funds

  • Canceling a redemption

The system will check whether your Total Equity meets the required minimum for your tier. If it does not, the action will be blocked.

Q: How can I remove the restriction on my account?

A:

  1. Check your investment limits

  2. Either deposit more funds to your Grvt account or redempt from the GLP strategy to make sure you are below the investment limits.

  3. Once you are below your investment limits, you will be able to transfer the additional funds freely

Q: What are the rules for investing more in GLP?

Situation A

Investment Limit > Current Investment

Meaning:

You still have room to invest more because your current GLP investment is below your allowed limit.

Effect:

  • Everything works normally.

  • You can add more funds until you reach your limit, taking full advantage of your tier.

  • Cancelling a redemption restores your investment amount. Since you’re still below your limit, nothing is restricted.

You’re safe and can invest more to optimize your GLP allocation. Cancelling a redemption does not restrict you.

Situation B

Investment Limit < Current Investment

Meaning:

Your current investment exceeds your allowed limit. This may happen if your investment limit was lowered due to a tier update.

Effect:

  • You cannot invest additional funds until your Total Equity increases.

  • You can redeem to bring your position back within the allowed range.

  • You cannot cancel a redemption if doing so would keep you above the limit, the system blocks this action.

If you’re above the limit, you cannot add funds yet, but you can redeem or deposit more to bring your position back within your allowed allocation.

Situation C

Withdrawal Would Push You Above the Allowed Limit

Meaning:

You are within your investment limit, but withdrawing too much would reduce your Total Equity, causing your GLP percentage to exceed the allowed cap.

Effect:

  • The system blocks withdrawals that would violate the limit.

  • You can withdraw up to the amount that keeps your GLP percentage within the allowed cap.

You can withdraw safely while maintaining your GLP allocation, and any excess can be added back later to maximize your allowed investment.

Situation D

You Are Above the Limit After the Update, But You Can Keep Your GLP

Meaning:

Your investment limit was lowered, and your current GLP percentage is now above the new cap.

Effect:

  • Your existing GLP position is allowed to remain unchanged.

  • You cannot increase your GLP until your Total Equity rises.

  • You may redeem normally without restrictions.

You can keep your current GLP allocation and plan to increase your investment in the future once your Total Equity allows it.

Situation E

You Want to Invest More but Must Increase Total Equity First

Meaning:

You are below the limit, but adding your desired amount would exceed your allowed GLP allocation.

Effect:

  • You can invest up to the remaining allowable amount.

  • To invest more than that, you can increase your Total Equity to expand your GLP position.

You can add more today within your limit, and depositing additional funds gives you the opportunity to fully optimize your GLP allocation.

Situation F

You Are Within the Percentage Limit but Have Hit the Tier’s USDT Cap

Meaning:

Your GLP percentage is within the allowed range, but your tier has an absolute USDT cap (ex. 50k / 100k / 250k) that has already been reached.

Effect:

  • The system blocks further investment above the tier’s USDT ceiling.

  • Even though your percentage allows more, the absolute tier limit is enforced.

You are within your allowed percentage, and by upgrading your tier (or increasing Total Equity), you could unlock additional investment capacity.
