Does GRVT review the digital wallets that I use to deposit or withdraw digital assets on the GRVT platform?
Yes, at GRVT, we are committed to providing a secure and compliant platform for users worldwide. To support this goal, we work closely with trusted compliance partners to monitor and review digital wallets. This process helps us identify potential exposure to restricted activities or high-risk entities in line with global regulatory standards, including sanctions, financial crime, and other high-risk activities identified by international regulatory bodies.
Why was my deposit or withdrawal placed under review on the GRVT Platform?
If a digital wallet or transaction is assessed as presenting elevated risks, the flagged digital wallet, transaction and digital assets may be temporarily placed under review to ensure compliance with global anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and sanctions requirements. This review process helps protect both our customers and the integrity of the GRVT platform.
Should I be concerned if my digital wallet is under review?
Typically, reviews may be applicable because a digital wallet’s transaction history contains links, even if minimal, to addresses associated with restricted or high-risk activities. Often, users are unaware of these associations, as transactions can pass through various intermediaries before reaching the GRVT platform. However, to maintain regulatory alignment in accordance with our compliance policies, GRVT must restrict digital wallets and/or transactions flagged by our compliance tools.
We understand that this situation can be unexpected, especially for users who haven’t knowingly or directly interacted with restricted entities or platforms.
What does the “Pending Review” status actually mean?
The “Pending Review” status means that the flagged digital wallet, transaction and digital assets are undergoing additional checks conducted by our Compliance Team. During this period:
Your digital assets may still be visible on your account interface under the “Pending Review” status.
At this time, you will be unable to access, utilise, transfer, trade, withdraw, or otherwise transact in any manner with such flagged digital assets while the “Pending Review” status is active.
Our Compliance Team may contact you for additional information.
This status is temporary and applies during the review process, until a final compliance outcome is determined.
During the “Pending Review” status, what happens to my other digital assets and existing trading positions which were not flagged and affected by the review?
Any other digital assets previously held in your account that are not associated with the flagged digital assets shall remain available for use, withdrawal, and other permitted activity, subject always to GRVT’s standard controls and ongoing monitoring.
During the “Pending Review” status, can I still make new deposits or withdrawals which are unassociated with the flagged digital assets?
Yes, you may continue to undertake new transactions and otherwise transact with unflagged digital assets , subject always to GRVT’s standard controls and ongoing monitoring.
How long does a review period usually take?
The review period can vary depending on the complexity of the case. If additional information is required, our Compliance Team will reach out to you and request for the required information as part of the process. Where information is requested by our Compliance Team:
You generally have up to 28 days to respond.
The sooner you respond, the faster we can complete the review.
What if I do not respond within the stipulated timeframe?
If additional information is requested as part of the review process and we do not receive a response within the stipulated timeframe:
The review cannot be completed without the required information.
Your digital wallet, transaction and/or flagged digital assets may continually remain in “Pending Review” status, and the flagged digital assets may continue to be held; or
We may be required to take the appropriate compliance action, in accordance with our compliance policies.
What could be the outcome of the review process?
As part of our responsibility to maintain a safe and compliant environment for all our users, we regularly review digital wallets and transactions. In some cases, we may request additional information or documentation to better understand the activity. Depending on the circumstances, GRVT may, in accordance with our Terms of Service, policies and/or applicable laws and regulations, take actions which could include but are not limited to the following:
Rejecting a transaction and processing a withdrawal to a compliant digital wallet;
Blocking digital wallets;
Blocking user accounts; and/or
Taking any other necessary action in relation to the flagged digital assets.
Why was my digital wallet blocked?
A digital wallet may be blocked if it is assessed as presenting a high risk, such as direct links to sanctioned entities, illicit activity, or other high risk money laundering and terrorist financing activities.
What happens when my digital wallet is blocked?
When a digital wallet is blocked, that specific digital wallet can no longer be used on the GRVT platform and the transaction requested may be rejected.
If my digital wallet is blocked and a transaction is rejected, can I withdraw the flagged digital assets?
Subject to compliance approval, a withdrawal may be made and processed once the provided digital wallet has been screened and deemed compliant. If the designated digital wallet provided is again found to present elevated risk, we may place the digital wallet back under review and repeat the compliance checks. Withdrawals in such cases are only permitted to digital wallets that meet our compliance requirements.
What happens if my account is blocked?
In accordance with our Terms of Service, policies and/or applicable laws and regulations, we may be required to fully and permanently restrict access to a user’s account if such user presents an elevated level of AML, ATF, or sanctions risk. This means such users will no longer be able to access or use that GRVT account.
However, before a permanent block is applied, we will endeavour to provide users with an opportunity to withdraw any remaining digital assets from their GRVT account, except where impractical or prohibited, including but not limited to where otherwise required by applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or law-enforcement directives.
Will GRVT explain the exact reason for the review?
We aim to be as transparent as possible, but in some cases we are legally restricted from sharing specific details. This helps ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and prevents interference with investigations.
How will I be contacted during the review period?
All official communications will be sent via your registered email address. Please ensure your contact details are up to date and check your inbox regularly.
What can I do to avoid delays in the future?
To help reduce the likelihood of delays, and to the best of your ability, avoid interacting with sanctioned or high-risk entities or engaging in or being associated with any criminal activity, and respond promptly to any compliance or information requests from GRVT.
Please note that taking these steps does not guarantee that a transaction or digital wallet will not be placed under review, as reviews may still be required on a case-to-case basis, subject to the applicable compliance requirements.
What can you do if you are affected?
If you believe there has been an error, please reach out to our support team at [email protected]. We’re here to review each case individually and provide guidance on the best next steps.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to maintain a secure and compliant environment for all users.
