GRVT Native SecureKey: what are backup codes?
Updated over a year ago

Users are given a backup code during SecureKey creation. Users can create more backup codes at any time. These codes are not private keys, and you cannot use them to port them into another wallet like MetaMask.

A backup code is made up of two components:

  1. Recovery Key ID

  2. Recovery Code

If you lose access to your passkeys, you can restore access to your GRVT Native SecureKey using your Recovery Key ID and Recovery Code. Note that GRVT cannot access the Recovery Code to your backup code. Upon generation, you are advised to store your backup code in a secure location as they will not be displayed again or stored anywhere within the GRVT systems.

Recover your SecureKey with Backup codes

  1. Navigate to My Account > Settings > SecureKey

  2. Search for Recover

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
